Who’s ready for an easy candy recipe for St. Patrick’s Day this year? If you can use a microwave, you have what it takes to make this Simple St. Patrick’s Day Bark recipe. That’s right! Minimal skills are required to make this tasty treat with layers of vanilla, chocolate and Oreo cookies. Interested? I thought you’d be!
Don’t be fooled by the green swirls on this St. Patrick’s Day Bark, because this recipe is mint free. Traditionally you see a lot of mint-flavored St. Patrick’s Day treats, but since my hubby doesn’t like mint I had to come up with a recipe without it. Don’t worry…it still tastes great to me, and I bet you’ll agree!
Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- 24 oz. package of Vanilla Flavored Almond Bark
- 24 oz. package of Chocolate Flavored Almond Bark
- 1 package of Oreo Thins Cookies
- Green food coloring
Recipe instructions:
Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Melt the chocolate flavored almond bark following the directions on the package. Spread the chocolate mixture evenly onto cookie sheet. Add a layer of Oreo Thins, spacing them evenly and pressing them slightly into the chocolate. Place in refrigerator until set.
Melt the vanilla flavored almond bark following the directions on the package. Spread 3/4 of the vanilla mixture on top of the chocolate/cookie layer.
Add a few drops of green food coloring to the remaining melted vanilla bark. (Feel free to add more if you want a darker green color.) Drizzle the green melted bark across the top creating stripes like in the picture below.
Use a knife to create a swirl pattern by dragging the knife up and down, pressing slightly into the melted candy, in the opposite direction of the green stripes.
Place cookie sheet in the refrigerator until set. Then use a knife to break the candy into smaller pieces for serving.
See those tasty layers of cookies, vanilla and chocolate? Oh my goodness, looking at these pictures makes me regret sending this St. Patrick’s Day Bark to work for my husband to share. I guess I’ll have to make another batch for me to enjoy!
