Ever since I started making my own sugar scrubs I can’t help but keep experimenting with new recipes. It’s just so much fun trying new ingredients and new combinations to create something fresh and new! I’ve never been one to continue using the same scrub over and over and I like to change it up every now and then. Since it’s so easy and affordable to make sugar scrubs at home, why not?
Today’s recipe was inspired first by my garden. I have a HUGE rosemary bush that I planted years ago in my flower garden. I originally planted it in my winter patio pots and it gave me color all winter long. When time came to switch out my pots for spring flowering plants I didn’t want to kill my rosemary, so I decided to plant it in my garden. It’s been faithful to me ever since and never disappoints to provide a lovely fragrance when I walk by it.
I decided to pair the beautiful scent of rosemary with my favorite lemon essential oil. You can read more about why I love and how I use lemon oil here, but the real reason I included it in this recipe is because I love the uplifting scent, which complements the rosemary perfectly. Hi I would like to make your sugar scrubs as gifts. How do you store them or preserve them from going bad before Christmas? Thank you

Lydia, I’ve never had an issue with my sugar scrubs going bad. As long as they are stored tightly in a cool, dark place there shouldn’t be a problem. I store mine in Mason Jars or store bought jars with screw tight lids.
