Homemade Lavender Rosemary Body Scrub

This week I had plans to meet some special ladies for dinner.  I had not seen my friends in awhile, and I wanted to give them a little gift to show them how much I’d missed them.  I was busy that day, and did not have a lot of time on my hands, so I knew I’d have to make something quick!

I thought about a Lavender Rosemary Body Scrub I recently made for my neighbor for her birthday, and I knew this would be perfect for them.  I mean, what woman does not appreciate a gift she can pamper herself with? The best thing about this gift is that I already had all the ingredients on hand.  Actually, most of them were in my kitchen!

Scrub Ingredients

Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make this scrub:

  • 1/2 Cup Pure Cane Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup Sea Salt
  • 1 Cup Organic Coconut Oil
  • 30 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 30 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil

The ingredients will mix better if the coconut oil is in a liquid state for this recipe. All you have to do is mix all these ingredients together in a bowl.  It doesn’t get any easier than that does it?  You can even switch this recipe up and use other essential oils like lemon, peppermint, orange or your other favorite.  Short on sugar?  Just increase the sea salt.  Low on salt?  Increase the sugar.  It’s really hard to mess this one up….even if you try!

Mix scrub

After it’s mixed up, just pour it into the container of your choice and slap on a label.  Congratulations, you’re done! You can add a piece of ribbon if you’d like, just to dress it up a bit.  I have made several scrub recipes before, but this one is my favorite.  I like that this Lavender Rosemary body scrub isn’t as abrasive as some I’ve used before, and the coconut oil is very hydrating.  It makes your skin soooo super smooth!

Dinner was great, by the way.  And when one of my friends had to cancel, it wasn’t so bad, because I had one extra scrub leftover for myself.  Shh…don’t tell her about it!

Why not head to your kitchen this weekend and give this a try? If you do, I’d love to hear about it!
