Today is officially the first day of spring, and what that comes spring cleaning! Today I am going to share some awesome spring cleaning hacks with you in hopes of making your life a little bit easier! When the weather gets warmer, who really wants to be stuck inside cleaning all day? Not me! I would rather get the cleaning done, and then get out and enjoy the warm sparkles of sunshine. See what I did there? Clever, huh? Alright, let’s move on to the hacks!
Clever Spring Cleaning Hacks For The Home
Garbage Disposal: Ever walk by the garbage disposal and notice it smells a little funky? Here’s how to fix that! Grab your ice cube trays, and chop up some lemon into small pieces. Place some lemon peels in each cube, then top each of them off with white vinegar. Freeze and then when your disposal needs freshening, toss a few in and run your disposal. It will help freshen up your garbage disposal fast!
Water Stains: To remove water stains from your sinks and shower, grab a lemon. Cut it in half and then use it to wipe over the stains. The acid in the lemon will help eat away the water stains!
Shine up Sinks: You can also use a dryer sheet to shine up your faucets. It can even be a used dryer sheet! Just buff the dryer sheet on your sink handles and spout. It works like a charm.
Coffee Pot: Add 2 cups vinegar to a full pot of coffee and run the cycle like normal. This will help break down buildup and get your coffee pot running like new. After you run the vinegar mix, run your cycle two more times with just straight water to fully clean.
Clean Crown Molding: Grab a broom and wrap a rag around the bristles. Secure it with a rubber band or clips and use that to reach your crown molding. Works great at getting rid of the dust and any cob webs lurking.
Air Vents: If your air vents are collecting dust you can use air in a can to spray them to get rid of the dust. Or take a butter knife and put a rag over it, then you can slide it into each slot to wipe the dust and dirt away.
Clean Delicate Art: If you have some delicate artwork and it is a little dirty, grab a bagel! You can gently pat the artwork to draw up any dust that is collecting on your art!
Ceiling Fans: Grab an old pillow case and use this to collect the dust bunnies! Just simply hang the pillow case over one of the leaves of the fan, and then slide it off gently. This will pull off the dust and grime, and it will fall into the pillow case instead of falling to the floor. Then shake the pillow case outside, to remove all the stuff you caught, and wash and use again later. Genius!
Mattress: If you haven’t cleaned your mattress in awhile, it might be overdue. Simply sprinkle baking soda on to your mattress. Let it sit for at least 1 hour, and then go and vacuum it up. This will help freshen up your mattress.
TV Screen: Use a coffee filter to gently clean away dust from computer screens and your television. They are gentle enough they will not scratch the screen.
Lamp Shades: If your lamp shades are looking a little dusty, grab a lint roller. Then just wipe the shade, and see the dust come right off!
I hope these simple spring cleaning hacks will help you when it comes time to clean your home! Do you have any neat cleaning hacks that saves you time?
