I’m so glad you decided to stop by today for the first edition of The Guy Behind the Blog here at Sparkles of Sunshine! This series, organized by Betsy over at Heavens to Betsy, is a fun way for you to learn more about the love of my life, Errik. I wouldn’t even be writing this blog right now if it wasn’t for him, after all!
I’m excited to participate in this link up so you can get to know him a little more, and even more excited he actually agreed to let me interview him! Alright, let’s see what he has to say this month…
Do you have a good luck charm or ritual? (like a lucky coin, or you always used to listen to a certain pump-up song when you played sports in high school or college?)
Errik: No.
Me: That’s all you have to say? A one word answer? This interview is going to be interesting…
(Believe me, I tried to drag something else out of him, but he was not going to budge with this one!)
What is your favorite dish that I make for you? Do you have any fun memories of a time when I tried to cook and it totally flopped or do I get it right every time?
Errik: I like the homemade pizzas you make me with the rosemary wheat crust. You’ve never given me a bad meal.
(Awwww….wasn’t that sweet? I realize he’s working for brownie points here. I wonder what he wants?)
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Errik: I always hated that question! When I was in high school the counselor used to ask me that a lot. I’d tell him I wanted to be a Native American.
Me: What??? Why did you tell him that?
Errik: Because I knew it was something I could never be. I diverted the question because I never really felt called to be something. It wasn’t until I was in the military working as an aircraft mechanic that I realized how much I loved working on diesel engines and decided that’s what I wanted to do.
Me: So, when you were little you never said you wanted to be something when you grew up?
Errik: You can tell them a firefighter or cop if you want…everybody says that. (with a laugh)
Me: Sigh….
Which of the five senses is your strongest?
Errik: Definitely not my taste!
Me: Why do you say that?
Errik: Because when you make stuff and ask me what’s in it, I can never taste the peanut butter or biscoff or whatever!
Me: True. So what is your strongest sense, then?
Errik: Touch
Me: We’re back to one word answers again…why touch?
Errik: Because I’m good with my hands.
Would you ever run for president?
Errik: No, too much pressure.
Me: Thank God! I’d make an awful First Lady! (laugh)
I hope you enjoyed reading this little interview with the man in my life. Be sure to check in again next month and see what he has to say. You’ll have to say goodbye to him until then…
Pretty sure my hubby would just tell me to make it up because I would already know what he would say! Here from Grow your Blog!
This was a fun link up because I never know what my husband is going to say, and I actually did learn something I didn’t know about him. I honestly never knew what he told his counselor at school, but it sounds exactly like something he’d say. Thanks for stopping by today! 🙂
Hahaha This is such a cute idea to do with husbands!
Thanks, Bianca. It’s nice to get them involved every now and then. 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
I love this idea! Is the link up still open?
I’m glad you like it! It is still open through Friday, and April’s questions are listed on Betsy’s blog, too! betsygettis.com 🙂
How fun! I’ll have to see if my hubby is up for a little interview.
Sounds like a great idea….good luck!
what a cute interview and a gorgeous idea 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
ok I have many thoughts on this….1. him saying NO to not having a ritual means that he secretly has one and wants no one to know about it lmao…2. Seriously love his comment about being a native american…i use to do the same thing when people would ask me. Although I would say a sniper lmao…they wont let girls be snipers in the army and it makes me mad that we are still judged..so that would always be my response…3. his HANDS…I spit my coffee out. Either I am a pervert!
thanks for making me laugh Errik!
First of all, I totally believe there’s something he’s not telling me. You know how guys are, right? It was probably something completely ridiculous he wants no one to know about. Ha! Secondly, I think you’d make a great sniper! Thirdly, I was going to leave that answer alone, but what can I say? He used to be a mechanic and he is good with his hands! 🙂
I never knew what I wanted to do when I grew either! I love Erik’s response proving you can’t be whatever you want to be despite all the rhetoric.
