Today is Halloween, and many people will find themselves decked out in costume attire to celebrate the holiday in style. For many, that includes elaborate face paint to complete their holiday outfit. Although most face paints claim to be washable, they can still leave residue on your face that will clog pores and can cause breakouts. Let’s prevent that from happening with a great all natural scrub, shall we? Like most of my natural beauty recipes, all you have to do is walk to the kitchen for the ingredients in this simple recipe!
You will need the following:
- 2 Tablespoons of Organic Fine Sea Salt
- 1 Tablespoon of Organic Coconut Oil
First of all, be sure you are using sea salt with a fine, smooth texture. If the salt is too rough, it can do your skin more harm than good!
Why these ingredients?
Sea salt is an excellent detoxifier. It will remove toxins from the body, while exfoliating your skin with its grainy texture. Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer and will help hydrate and soften the skin.
This scrub is quick and easy to make, and I usually mix it up right in my hand! But you can mix it in a bowl if it works better for you. It is best for the coconut oil to be in a liquid state. If your oil is hard, put it in your hands and rub them together. This will warm it up and cause it to liquefy. Don’t microwave it or will get too hot and can melt the salt. Next, add the sea salt and blend it together to form a paste.
To use, apply to your wet face and massage it in, gently buffing your skin to slough the dead skin cells and residue off your face. Rinse and pat dry with a towel. Follow with your normal facial moisturizer. Enjoy your beautiful, glowing skin!
This can be used as a weekly exfoliator to maintain that beautiful skin. Sometimes people have the tendency to scrub too hard when using an exfoliator. Remember that the sea salt is doing the work for you, so don’t rub it in too hard or you will scratch your skin.

i dont have sea salt. can i use salt for cooking?
Sure, as long as it is a fine salt so it won’t be too abrasive and harm your skin.
