After making this super simple garland out of fabric scraps and string lights, I had a few extra fabric scraps sitting around. I decided that Lanie would look very classy in dog collar made out of fabric scraps. Guess what? I was right! If you’re looking for a complicated project that will take hours, you definitely came to the wrong place. This will literally take minutes to make, and your pup will look fabulous in no time! For this project you will need a dog collar, scissors/rotary cutter, and fabric scraps.
First you will need to cut your fabric into strips. I cut mine into 1/2in x 4in strips. Once you have enough of strips cut, find something good on TV and start tying your strips to the collar.
Keep tying fabric strips onto the collar until it is completely covered.
Now that you are finished, and all that’s left to do is put your new fabric scrap collar onto your pup and watch her wag her tail in delight! OK, she wasn’t that excited about the collar, but she was super happy to get treats after her photo shoot.
Doesn’t this collar look absolutely adorable? My other doggie, Cosmo, was a little jealous he didn’t get one, but I thought this look would be too feminine for him. This really is the simplest way to dress up a dog collar. What do you think?
Not only is this is an easy, quick project to make, but it’s also a great way to use up leftover fabric. And it looks just too cute! What do you think? Will you give this one a try?
Don’t forget that October is Adopt a Dog Month. Please be encouraged this month to check out your local animal shelter for a new pet. Your reward for providing a dog with a home will be their undivided love and attention. Except when there are treats around…or the doorbell rings…or a cat runs by the window…or your spouse comes home…or the oven timer dings…etc. All jokes aside, there’s nothing as fulfilling as knowing you’ve saved an animal’s life. My two doggies have definitely changed my life for the better!

This is so cute! I am definitely making this one. Everyone mistakes my beagle/Jack Russell mix for a boy so this will make her collar extra-girly. Thanks for the great idea 🙂
I think this collar will do the trick and make your doggie super girly. Thanks for checking it out!
Lanie, you are beautiful, and your new collar is adorable- what a lucky girl you are! 🙂 This is a great idea, Christie- thanks!
Thanks so much, Joy. I’m glad you liked it…I know Lanie does! 🙂
Very pretty, beautiful puppy.
Thanks! She’s my little girl. 🙂
