Welcome to another fun edition of The Guy Behind the Blog, a link-up organized by my friends Betsy and Laura from The Peony Project. It’s always fun to read what the guys reveal when we interview them each month. I love that you get to learn a little more about the man behind the scenes at Sparkles of Sunshine, especially since he’s often the muscle ( and sometimes brains) behind my projects here.
This month we have some fun questions, and some, hmmm…interesting answers. Let’s see what Errik reveals to us this month at The Guys Behind the Blog!

What’s the silliest thing you and your significant other have needed to compromise on?
I guess the silliest thing we’ve had to compromise on is which side of bed to sleep on when we’re on vacation….somehow we always wind up switching it up…
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what 3 must haves would you bring with you?
A sail boat, an instruction book on how to sail, because I’ve never done it before, and a compass. Yeah, I know that’s not what you’re looking for…just give me a minute. Every one says their favorite book, but I’ve read some good books several times through and I think it would still get old. I think the book to have would be the Bible. Every time I read that I learn something new. Even if I think I know the story. The second thing I would need is a good knife. You can do a lot a stuff with a good knife. And YouTube. YouTube would be great. I could watch videos on making primitive huts, starting fires, making pots, all sorts of cool things.
Talents aside, what is your dream job?
I would be the emperor. Everyone would have to do what I tell them. I would be great. Fine, a real job….. um… retired with tons of money would be alright. I think I could handle that. Retired is a real job…kind of?? FINE. I would like to be a circus clown. They seem happy all the time. Or maybe an astronaut? Space is cool and I could do science projects all day!
What are three things on your bucket list?
An easy one would be to visit New York City. I’m sure we’ll get there some day. A harder one would be to bike 100 miles in one trip. The last would have to be… something like… I would like to drive through every state.
What kind of date is your favorite to go on with your significant other? (Romantic, fun, spontaneous, etc.)
I like our spontaneous dates. The times we get in the car and just start driving, taking random turns, and ending up having a great day.
Yes, I must admit I love those days when we hop in the car and end up somewhere we never expected to be. It’s always an adventure for us, and I’m so happy to have Errik as the strong man behind this blog. Oh, is it OK if I let you know that he really is a clown? Well, at least he seems happy all the time…but I guess that’s because he’s married to me…
Oh Youtube is a great idea to “bring with” haha! My husband and I also get messed up with sides of the bed on vacation. Thanks for joining us!
Thanks so much for hosting, Laura. It’s hard to choose a new side of the bed when you’re on vacation, isn’t it? The way I choose is I want the side closest to the potty in case I have to go during the night. LOL 🙂 Have a blessed week!
