Speed Cleaning For the Holidays Guide
Living Room/Bonus Room/Home Office
Return any clutter to its proper place.
Dust surface areas with a cloth or duster.
Vacuum/sweep floors and spot clean any stained areas.
Fluff pillows and arrange them on furniture along with throws and other textiles.
Dining Room
Return any clutter to its proper place.
Dust surface areas with a cloth or duster.
Sweep floor and vacuum any rugs and spot clean any stained areas.
Bedrooms
Make the bed and fluff pillows.
Pick up any clutter and return to its proper place.
Dust surface areas with a cloth or duster.
Vacuum or sweep floors and spot clean any stained areas.
Bathrooms
Scrub toilets with toilet bowl cleaner and wipe seat clean.
Use a cloth or wipes to clean sinks and countertops.
Wipe mirrors clean with a mirror cleaner.
Sweep floors and vacuum rugs. Spot clean as needed.
Kitchen
Return any clutter to its proper place.
Unload and load dishwasher.
Hand wash any remaining pots, pans and/or dishes.
Wipe down countertops, appliances and all surface areas.
Sweep floor, vacuum rugs and spot clean as needed.
Tip: I find it easier to complete all tasks but the floors, then sweep and/or vacuum all at once. Otherwise, I do one room at the time.
