There’s nothing like going on a fun vacation, so I love planning our family vacations every year. Each time I make a reservation, I mark it on the calendar and start counting down the days until we can leave for our destination. As the day grows closer, I get more and more excited about our upcoming adventure. Unfortunately, there is one thing I truly dread about vacations…PACKING! Today we’re going to tackle this dreaded task head-on with a free printable travel checklist to help us simplify our vacation packing!
I’m not really sure if anyone enjoys packing for vacation, but I know it’s something I’ve dreaded over the years. Yes, since I’m a planner (any maybe a little OCD), I’m always afraid I’m going to forget to pack something! When my husband and I first started vacationing together, I would pack everything imaginable into my suitcase. And by suitcase…I mean a small casket. I’m serious, friends! The suitcase I used to use was HUGE and you would not believe how much I could fit into that thing, including myself if an emergency would occur. I would start packing my suitcase a week beforehand, slowly adding more and more items to take with me. After several vacations of doing this, I realized that I never used half of what I brought with me, so I decided to take another approach.
My new packing philosophy was that if I didn’t bring something with me, I’d just buy it once I got there. Yes, if I forgot to pack something, chances are that the nearest Walmart Store would have it, so I’d just stop by there and pick it up. This definitely made packing so much easier on me! I could wait until the last minute, throw some stuff into my suitcase, and pray for the best. Well, this method worked at first, but then I started collecting things. I’d come home with another bottle of sunscreen to add to the three I already had at home, or another deodorant stick that I really didn’t like but it was all I could find at the Dollar Store we stopped at along the way. I realized this method definitely wasn’t saving me time or money, and who wants to spend their vacation shopping at drugstores anyway? Once I forgot my medication and the drugstore couldn’t transfer it for me since I was out of state, I knew it was time to make a change.
Today I’m sharing this free printable travel checklist I created to use as a guide when packing for vacations. It lists important information you’ll need along with toiletries, clothing, and business items. Got kids? No problem! There’s a section that lists items you’ll need for the kids. There’s even a list of items you’ll need for beach and ski vacations. Need to add something? Just write it in the extra space included. Yes, this list has definitely got you covered! All you have to do to download this free printable travel checklist is to click on the link below. This easy checklist is free for your personal use.
These days packing for vacations is so much easier for me thanks to this free printable travel checklist. These days most of our vacations are spent at the beach, so that makes it easier for me to pack, too. As long as I have the toiletries I need, sunscreen, beach towel and a swimsuit, I’m happy. This checklist definitely comes in handy because it reminds me to pack the toiletries and items I tend to forget it. I hope it helps you, too!
