Happy New Year, friends! I can’t tell you just how happy I am to say that to you today. It’s the truth. As much as I love Thanksgiving and Christmas, there’s something even more exciting about the new year to me. It’s not about watching the NYC ball drop on TV, hitting the after holiday sales online or eating black-eyed-peas for good luck for me…it’s about a new year and a new beginning. And a new blog series, of course! Welcome to the first in a series of posts to help you start the new year off right. Each Friday in January I’ll be sharing ways to get your life organized along with some useful free printables. Tell me, are you as excited about the new year as I am?
I think we all like the thought of new beginnings. In fact, many of the movies we watch are inspired by them. Perhaps that’s why we like watching movies so much. In the beginning of the movie someone’s life isn’t going well, but by the end of the movie they have a new career, a new relationship, a new home, a new bank account, or maybe even a new superpower. Sounds pretty good, right?
Real life may not always work out like it does in the movies, but we all have the chance for a new start and a new beginning. The start of a new year brings the promise of hope and possibilities when we can leave the past behind us and move forward. What do you want to accomplish this year? Have you spent time thinking about the goals you want to achieve? Last week I wrote a post about goal setting, and I hope you’ll take the time to read it if you haven’t already. There’s no time like the present to come up with some goals to work towards in the upcoming year.
Today’s freebie is going to help you establish your goals for the upcoming year. It’s important to write down your goals and place them somewhere so you can easily access them later. If you don’t write them down and review them periodically throughout the year, chances are that you’ll forget them. What I love most about today’s free yearly goals printable is that it functions as a worksheet, too. Use it to create action steps for you to take towards reaching your goals. Planning these action steps will increase your chances of achieving your goals since it gives you a game plan to get started.

You are precious. A true kindred soul. I love the NEW year. Absolutely love it! I’m new to planning and goal setting. Terri Savelle Foy is my mentor and goal setting cheerleader.
However, so are you. It was overwhelming at first but with your step-by-step, actionable advice- I’m on my way. I actually crave the order and structure of planning.
I’m still working out the kinks of what time of planner to use- especially at night after work – but I AM a LIST MAKER!! lol
And I had my collard greens, black-eyed peas and gluten-free cornbread for New Year’s.
Blessings and thank yous from Chattanooga, TN
