What is your morning routine like, or do you even have one? If you’re like me, you often find yourself running behind with a to-do list in one hand and a coffee in the other. That’s not the healthy start I desire to have for my mornings. Have you been looking for a way to simplify your mornings and still get a good start for the day, too? Recently I decided it was time to get my mornings back under control with an easy make-ahead breakfast, Overnight Apple Butter Oats.
Did you know that this month is Oatober, a month to celebrate the super grain we call oats? While oats are versatile and are the perfect addition to any meal, my favorite time to eat them is breakfast. We’ve been incorporating them into our daily morning routines for over a hundred years, after all! Although I’m often tempted to skip breakfast on busy days, I’ve found when I start my day with a healthy meal of oats I get more done. Oats are packed with fiber which keeps me full longer, allowing me to stay focused on the tasks ahead.
There’s no better way to celebrate the month of Oatober than with a breakfast recipe made with Quaker Oats that can easily fit into your busy morning routine. I decided to make these Overnight Apple Butter Oats because I had some homemade apple butter on hand that I wanted to use. The apple butter adds a wonderful flavor to the oats. When paired with cinnamon and chopped apples, what’s not to love about this breakfast idea?
I also wanted an easy way to get the nutrition I craved in the mornings without having to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. What I love about this recipe is not only the taste, but also that it saves me time each morning. By making these oats ahead of time I can save myself the prep time in the morning. All I have to do is take the container out of the fridge, stir, add some sliced apple to the top and grab a spoon. It doesn’t get much easier than that! You can make a batch ahead of time since they keep in the fridge up to 4 days, too. It’s super simple to make because all you do is combine the ingredients together.
I hope you enjoy this tasty breakfast recipe for Overnight Apple Butter Oats as much as I do. It’s definitely helped me take back my mornings since it’s an easy make-ahead breakfast option. Be sure to use Quaker Oats because with over 140 years of experience, they provide the highest quality of oats possible.
