Magnetic Pot Holder Organizer

Welcome to another addition to Frugal Gift Friday.  Today I’m going to show you a super quick project that will make an excellent gift for the ladies in your life. This magnetic pot holder organizer is perfect for storing items you need in the kitchen like pens, pencils, scissors, etc.  You can make one of these quicker than the time it takes your glue gun to heat up!

An easy DIY gift idea....a magnetic pot holder organizer!

For this project you will need the following:

  • pot holder
  • glue/glue gun
  • magnet strip.

Gift Pot Holder

I bought these pot holders at the dollar store for…you guessed it…a dollar. Now, let’s get started! The first step is to form the pot holder into a cone shape.  I did this by first folding the left edge down mid way to form a diagonal as indicated in the picture below.

Then I folded the bottom edge of the pot holder up to line up with the top edge and secured it with hot glue.

Next, cut a magnet strip the length of the pot holder, and attach it securely with hot glue.

Once the glue is dry, it’s time to stuff the organizer to complete the gift.  You can add scissors and pens, post it notes, recipe cards or even hot chocolate packets.  Whatever you think the recipient will appreciate!

Best of all, these cute gifts are extremely affordable since the pot holders only cost me 50 cents each.  You can even stuff these with goodies from the dollar store.  These gifts are a perfect fit for Frugal Gift Friday!

Don’t these Magnetic Pot Holder Organizers look cute hanging on the fridge here?  You can use a red pot holder for a Christmas themed gift, or go all out with something colorful that can be enjoyed year-round.  Don’t limit these to Christmas gifts, because they are perfect for any occasion! What do you think of these Magnetic Pot Holder Organizers?  Have you used pot holders for other projects?  If so, do share!
