Fall is the season all about pumpkins. You see them everywhere from doorstops to textiles to t-shirts. I couldn’t help but be inspired to come up with a pumpkin crochet free pattern to share with you. There’s something about fall that makes me want to pull out my yarn and hooks and get busy crocheting. This pumpkin applique is super quick to make and oh so easy!
Pumpkin Crochet Free Pattern:
Materials needed:
- Peaches & Creme Worsted Yarn in Bright Orange
- Peaches & Creme Worsted Yarn in Dark Taupe
- Peaches & Creme Worsted Yarn in Forest Green
- Yarn Needle
- Crochet Hook Size H
- Scissors
Pumpkin:
Using the bright orange yarn, chain 4. Slip stitch to join at top of chain.
Round 1: Chain 3 (Counts as first DC). DC 11 in loop, join with slip stitch at top of first DC.
Round 2: Chain 1 (counts as SC) and SC in same stitch. 2 SC in next stitch. 2 DC in next stitch. 2 TC in next stitch. 1 TC and 1 DC in next stitch. 2 SC in next stitch. 1 DC and 1 TC in next stitch. 2 TC in next stitch. 2 DC in next stitch. 2 SC in next two stitches. 1 SC in next stitch. Join with slip stitch at top of the first SC and fasten off. (23 stitches)
Stem:
Using dark taupe yarn, chain 4. Turn around and 1 SC in 2nd chain from hook, 1 DC in next chain, 1 SC in next chain. Slip stitch to top of the pumpkin and fasten off.
Leaf:
Using forest green yarn, chain 4. 1 SC in 2nd chain from the hook and remaining 2 chains. Join to the pumpkin with a slip stitch and fasten off.
Wasn’t that easy? This really is a simple pattern that only takes a few minutes to make. The possibilities are endless on how you can use it, too. You could make several and attach to string for a cute garland, attach a few to an autumn wreath, attach to an afghan, or use them alone as coasters this fall.
