Welcome to this year’s first edition of Frugal Gift Friday, a series designed to help you save money this upcoming holiday season. An easy way to not spend money on holiday gifts is by making your own. If you’re resourceful and use items you already have on hand or discounted items from thrift stores, you can make some fabulous gifts that will please your friends and family and still have money in your pocket. This Frugal Gift Friday series is here to help you do just that!

I bet you may already have the supplies you need for today’s frugal gift idea. Yes, one quick trip to your pantry and you should have what you need. Today’s easy recipe for a Christmas Cookie Sugar Scrub is the perfect holiday gift for the ladies on your gift list this year. They will love pampering themselves with this fragrant, skin smoothing sugar scrub. Trust me!

Save money this holiday season and make your own gifts. This Christmas Cookie Sugar Scrub is simple to make, and all ingredients can be found in your pantry!

Here is what you will need for this sugar scrub recipe:

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup Coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup Grapeseed oil
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • container for storage

This scrub is so easy to make because all you have to do is stir up the ingredients, pour into an airtight container, dress it up with some pretty ribbon and you’re done. Print out the easy recipe below and give it a try today. Christmas Cookie Sugar Scrub

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup Coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup Grapeseed oil
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Place the Coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl and heat until melted, about 30 seconds.
  • Add the Grapeseed oil and sugar and mix well.
  • Add spices and extracts and mix until well blended.
  • Spoon into an airtight container for storage.

Notes

You can adjust the ratio of sugar to oil until you reach your desired consistency.

    okay, I have a WEIRD question, would this scrub be used on your feet and hands? Just thinking of bundles to make for “spa” care 🙂

      Yes, you could use this scrub for hands and feet as well. It would be cute to make spa packages with cozy socks, nail clippers, etc. Great idea!

    I can’t use coconut oil. Can it be substituted for olive oil or another oil like it and if so which one?

      I’m so sorry you can’t use coconut oil! Yes, you can substitute the oil for another oil…like Jojoba, Olive or Apricot. So yes, you can still enjoy it! 🙂
