Upcycled DIY Notebook

Do you know how easy it is to make your own upcycled DIY notebook? What if I told you all you need to make a notebook like this one is paper, metal book rings, a couple of vinyl flooring samples and a few minutes? I thought that might convince you to give this project a try! With back-to-school looming just around the corner I thought this would be a fun project to share with you today.

Not only is this a super simple project to make, but it’s super affordable, too. I purchased my book rings at The Dollar Tree and the book pages only cost me $2.47. What a small cost for a custom made notebook!

Materials needed for this project:

• Flooring samples (2 of the same style)
• 3 metal book rings
• notebook paper
• hole puncher
• pen/marker

Project instructions:

Start out by making sure both of your flooring samples are equal in size. You may have to trim them a bit if they don’t match up perfectly. 

Lay a piece of notebook paper on the inside of each flooring sample, making sure it’s properly centered. Use a pen or marker to make an outline of the holes in the paper. I used the top, middle and bottom holes for this project, but you could use more rings if you’d like. 

After the rings are marked, use a hole puncher to punch them out of the flooring sample.

Now it’s time to assemble the notebook. With the flooring samples facing outward and the notebook paper in the middle, add the metal book rings by sliding them through the holes and locking them into place.

Your notebook is now completed. Geez, that was easy wasn’t it? You can add more pages later, take them out and move them around, just like with a 3 ring binder. Only this one is much cooler!
