DIY Holiday Pillowcases

See how easy it is to make these fun DIY Holiday Pillowcases by visiting Sparkles of Sunshine today.

I love Christmas just as much as anyone else, but in the past I haven’t spent much time decorating my bedroom for the holiday.  I usually spend my time focused on decorating the areas of my home most visible to others when they visit, but this year I decided to make a change.  I saved some of my decorating ideas to use in my bedroom, where only I can enjoy them.  Well, I guess I’ll share these with my husband… but only because I have to!

DIY Holiday Pillowcases

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to share these awesome DIY Holiday Pillowcases with you!  This was such an easy, quick project to complete, and I’m so happy with the way they turned out.  After listening to Christmas music for weeks, I got the idea to make these super cute Naughty & Nice pillowcases when listening to Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.  I made these one morning before the first hour of The Today Show was even over!

I had some pillowcases in my linen closet that I wasn’t using.  These actually are Mr. and Mrs. pillowcases, but no one will know now unless they turn them over!  I love recycling what I already have on hand when making projects for my home, so I pulled these out and got to work.

I used the same process I used when making my fall pillow covers.  You can get the tutorial here.  All you need is a fabric marker and printer to get started.  I used a DecoFabric marker in red for my pillowcases.

It really is a simple method.  Use Microsoft Word to design and print out your wording, trace it onto the pillowcases, then color in with the fabric marker.  Easy enough?

I downloaded this font from dafont.com.  It’s called Grutchshaded, and I think it fits perfectly for these DIY Holiday Pillowcases.  What do you think?

I have to fight the urge to switch these pillows around, though.  I sleep on the left side of the bed…and I’m nice, of course!  My husband?  Well, my lips are sealed.  Besides, the big guy in red is the only one who knows the true answer, right?

I know Christmas is only a few days away, but you can still finish these project in time if you’d like.  I promise you it takes less than an hour to make these DIY Holiday Pillowcases, and I’m sure you’ll love them as much as I love mine. If you decide to make your own, be sure to let me know!

Awesome project….Just one question….which of the Mr. and Mrs. pillow cases have the “naughty” or “nice” on them? 🙂

Oh no…I didn’t think about that when I made these! I just ran downstairs to check and of course, the “Mrs.” pillow case is also the “Naughty” one. I guess I’ve been outed! 🙂
