Do you give gifts to your loved ones for Valentine’s Day? If so, have you been looking for a creative way to package your gifts this year? If so, look no further, because I have the perfect project for you today. These Easy Felt Valentine Envelopes are sure to make your gifts stand out in the crowd! Here is what you will need for this project:
- Felt material
- Sewing machine/thread
- Decorative buttons
- Rick Rack or ribbon for trim
- Hot glue gun/glue
- Scissors or rotary cutter
The first step is to cut your felt material into rectangles. Here are the proper measurements:
Small envelopes: 4 inches by 8 inches
Large envelopes: 8 inches by 16 inches
Next, fold the rectangle in half the long way. Cut the felt at an angle from the top of the folded side to the opposite side by measuring down 1.5 inches for small envelopes, and 3 inches for large envelopes.
Now you will have a rectangle with a pointed top.
The envelope is formed first by folding up the bottom portion of the rectangle and stitching up the sides. The top pointed piece of felt folds down to create the envelope.
It is much easier to add your trim before sewing the envelope together. I used my hot glue gun to adhere my rick rack trim to these envelopes, but you can sew your trim if you’d prefer.
After the envelopes are sewn together, add a pretty button to finish your project off with style! Now you can stuff your easy felt valentine envelopes with treats for your loved ones this Valentine’s Day. You can add sweets or a small gift…it really is up to you.
These super cute envelopes are really easy to make. In fact, it took me less than 20 minutes to make all 6 of these envelopes. I love quick projects, don’t you?
I think these easy felt valentine envelopes are simply adorable. They are an easy way to make a small, inexpensive gift feel extra special. What do you think? What would you put in these envelopes for your valentine?
