8 Hot Glue Gun Hacks You Need to Know

Don't settle for only doing crafts with your hot glue gun when there's so much more you can do with it. Check out these 8 hot glue gun hacks that will rock your world! If you have been letting your hot glue gun collect dust, it is time to bring it out of hiding. I am here to share with you some clever ways to use your hot glue gun around the home, in ways you may not have thought of! Below you will find a list of hot glue gun tips, tricks and hacks, to make your life a little bit easier! From melted art to creating a non-slip rug, these hacks and tricks will help bring a whole new life to your crafting glue gun!

Crayon Art

This is best to use your hot glue gun strictly for this, because this one gets messy! You can buy one for really cheap, so just have it on hand. Start by peeling off the label of the crayon. Then put the crayon where you would put the glue stick. Let the glue gun heat up, and it will begin to melt the crayon. Then on a piece of paper you can begin to make a design. This is a bit messy so have some newspaper underneath to catch drips!

Bath Toys

Seal up the holes of bath toys with a drop of hot glue. This will keep water getting in the toy and growing mold and mildew.

Non-Slip Rug

Apply little dots or lines of hot glue to the back of a rug, so it doesn’t slip on hard wood or tile floors.

Decorate a Vase

Take a glass vase and with a hot glue gun, create lines all around the vase or a design to give it new life!

Non-Slip Hangers

Grab  your hangers, and take your glue gun and put a line at the top of the hanger where the shoulder of the shirt would go, or dots. This will give the hanger traction and keep your shirts from slipping off.

No-Slip Slippers

If your little one or yourself wears slippers and find yourself sliding on the floors, do this! Add some dots or lines to the bottom of the slippers, it will create some traction as you walk across the hard floors.

Custom Roller Stamp

Take a piece of PVC pipe, plastic rolling pin or something along that lines. Then create a design with your hot glue on the plastic. Then use it to roll onto a piece of paper or wall, to create your custom look. You can use this roller on any kind of project to make it one of a kind!

Homemade Tap Shoes

Grab an old pair of shoes, or buy some at a yard sale or thrift store. Hot glue some pennies on the bottom side of the shoe. Do a few rows on where the heal goes and toes. Then put the shoes on and start tapping away! This works great at keeping kids entertained!

Hope you enjoyed these fun tips, tricks and hacks, when it comes to your glue gun! Tell me, what kind of fun ways do you use your glue gun? Tell me by leaving a comment below!
