When I was in Kindergarten, I despised nap time. I would have to lie still while my classmates napped next to me, anxiously waiting for the moment when my teacher would let me get up and play until the others woke up. Once I even got tapped with a ruler for not having my head down during nap time! I never wanted to take a nap, and I couldn’t wait until it was time to play and be active again. You see, I’ve always had a hard time being still.
My husband can certainly attest to this. He would tell you I have the tendency to stay busy and not take the time to relax like I should. I always feel like my to-do list must be done before I can sit and rest. I realize this isn’t always possible, and I am learning to let some things go. But for a control freak like me, it takes time to learn to let things go.
“The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still.” Exodus 14:4
This verse is one of my favorite Bible verses. I have scribbled this verse on countless pieces of paper this past year. It has been taped to my computer, tucked into my wallet, displayed on my fridge, posted anywhere in my view to remind me that God is always working in my behalf. I created this free printable because this message is too important to just be scribbled on post-it notes. Today I am happy to share it with you!
This Bible verse is so important for someone like me. I naturally take the bull by the horns, and start fighting my own battles in life. It’s my innate personality to take control of situations, look for a solution, and start making it happen. But God doesn’t always work that way. Just as I enjoy taking care of my little doggies, God enjoys taking care of us. He wants to fight our battles for us and work all things out for our good. All it requires is our trust and faith in Him. In fact, he often uses situations in our lives to build up our trust and faith in him.
What are you facing today? Why not take a break and let God work things out for you? Take a deep breath, say a prayer, and let it go. Then print out this free printable and display it to remind you that He is in control and working for you. Relax and rest in Him today.
To print, right click on the image below and save it to your computer. You can then print it, or even send it to your local printer to save your ink.
I hope you like this free printable as much as I do, and it blesses you today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank you. I needed this today. I too tend to be impatient and want to take the bull by the horns, then get discouraged when things don’t work out. I need to be reminded that God is in control, not me! thanks again!
This is such a wonderful printable with a precious message! Your words were a blessing to read and I am thankful for the Lord – He WILL fight for us 🙂
