Easy Crochet Lighted Garland Pattern

Ingredients

  • one string lighted garland
  • white worsted weight yarn
  • 2 varied shades of red worsted weight yarn
  • Crochet hook size K

Instructions

  • Row 1: Using the green yarn, attach yarn to the end of the lighted garland with a slip stitch. Chain 2. While holding the strand of yarn across top of the lighted garland string, insert hook under garland string and yarn over, creating 2 loops on hook, yarn over the garland string and pull strands through both loops making a single crochet around the lighted garland string. Continue working single crochet, working around the light bulbs, until you reach the last light bulb and the garland is covered. Fasten off green yarn.
  • Row 2: Attach 1st red color yarn to the first SC with a slip stitch. Chain 3 (counts as first DC). Skip the first SC, then DC in each SC across. Fasten off.
  • Row 3: Attach next red color yarn to the first DC with a slip stitch. Chain 3 (counts as first DC). DC in first DC, then 2DC in each DC across. Fasten off.
  • Row 4: Attach white yarn to the first DC with a slip stitch. Chain 2 (counts as first SC). Skip the first DC, then SC in each DC across. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Notes

For my string of lights I worked 10 single crochets in between each light bulb (2 inch space), but you may need to add or decrease stitches depending on the distance between your light bulbs.
