Homemade Relaxation Eye Pillows With Lavender

Make this quick and easy project in minutes. It makes a perfect gift!

Ingredients

  • Rice 2 cups per pillow.
  • Fabric of your choice in coordinating colors/patterns fabric scraps and fat quarters are great for this project
  • Coordinating thread
  • Scissors
  • Lavender Essential Oil

Instructions

  • Cut your fabric into rectangles 4 1/2 inches by 10 inches. You will need two rectangles for each eye pillow made.
  • Line up your two rectangles with right sides facing. Stitch the fabrics together on three sides, leaving one of the short ends open.
  • Measure out 2 cups of rice for your pillow. Add 10-15 drops of Lavender essential oil and mix well.
  • Turn your fabric right side out and carefully pour the rice into the pillow (I used a funnel for this).
  • Fold the edges of the fabric inside and stitch the end shut.
  • Sew a straight line across the opposite short end to make the ends of the eye pillow uniform.

Notes

Use regular rice, not quick cooking rice for this project. It's heavier and works better for microwave use.
