6 Simple Ways You Can Spruce Up Your Patio

It's not difficult to update your outdoor space. Check out these 6 simple ways you can spruce up your patio this year.

Sprucing up your patio doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Honestly, with a little bit of planning, it can actually turn out to be quite affordable. This is just a short list of some of the things you can do to accomplish the task. Which of these six simple ways you can spruce up your patio will you choose?

Update Patio Furniture

An easy way to spruce up your patio is by updating the furniture. Sometimes a new coat of paint and new cushions is all you need to freshen up your space. If your furniture is completely outdated or beyond repair, check out the deals on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace to snag a good deal.

Hang Curtains

Add privacy and style to your patio by hanging curtains. If you’re into sewing, save money by making them yourself. Bold print fabric such as striped is perfect for this project.

Create Hidden Storage

It’s easy to create hidden storage, simply by installing a few shelves and then hiding them with a curtain. Another option is to purchase ottomans that feature storage capabilities.

Display a Pretty Wreath or Two

When it comes to beautiful wreaths, suitable for hanging outdoors, there are tons of them to choose from. Something like a succulent wreath would be ideal. It’s quite easy to make, even if you’re not particularly crafty. Better yet, it will live (in some climates) for an indefinite period of time.

Integrate Splashes of Color

Integrating splashes of color is a breeze, by using accessories such as throw pillows, outdoor rugs, festive tableware, potted plants and even furniture cushions. If you’re afraid of going overboard, stick with two or three of your favorite coordinating colors and slowly branch out from there.

Invest in a Portable Fire Pit

Portable fire pits are available in all shapes and sizes. Even if your patio is on the smallish side, there’s probably a fire pit that will work for you. Light a fire, grab the S’ mores ingredients and you’re good to go!

Now that you have an idea about some the things you can do to spruce up your patio, there’s no better time to get started. Spending time outside is an excellent way to relax after a hectic day. Shhhh… listen… your patio is calling!

I’m working on my deck now. I do have a few pieces of furniture that I plan to paint, and add some pops of color. Thanks for the inspiration.
