Welcome to another fun edition of The Guys Behind the Blogs. Today we’re going to get a little personal and ask Errik some questions about what else? LOVE!
How did you meet your significant other?
Errik: My friends and I went to hear a band play, you were there, our eyes met and the rest is history.
What is your top love language?
Errik: What are they again?
Christie: Can you Google it?
Errik: Thanks…..I think mine is Words of affirmation or Acts of service. I know you say mine is touch but I don’t want other people touching me…
What is your significant other’s love language?
Errik: I would say Christie’s love language is Receiving gifts. You always like the few times I have left you a card or a note. I know I should do it more often but I just want to come home and give you a hug.
If you’re engaged or married, how did you propose?
Errik: I proposed on top of a fire tower at sunset. It was Memorial Day and we went to Itasca State Park in Minnesota. I think it was the second day of camping and after riding bikes and kayaking we climbed the tower just in time for sunset. I had written a poem in a card and while you read it I got on one knee and asked you to marry me. It was awesome.
Share a funny wedding story with us – it could be from your own or one you attended.
Errik: At my brothers wedding the wedding party went off to take pictures at his old campus. The photographer wanted to take a different kind of photo. She asked the grooms men and bridesmaids to run around my brother and his wife while she took the picture. I guess she was going for a blurred ring of people around the bride and groom but it felt and seemed ridiculous. We joked later that the photographer was sitting around bragging on how she got a bunch of people to act like fools while she took a “picture.”
On the topic of love, who was your childhood crush?
Errik: I don’t understand the question. I crushed some bugs and cans as a child. When you say “childhood” what kind of time frame are we talking? 7-9 years old or high school age? I would think if you’re asking about high school the question would be high school sweetheart. I don’t remember having a childhood crush. There were a couple girls in high school one more serious but I don’t want to talk about that.
What can I say? When your husband says his childhood crush was bugs and cans, you know he must be really easy to please. I guess that’s why he married me! After this interview, I got curious and took The 5 Love Languages Profile Test to see if Errik was right about me. He was! Acts of Service and Receiving Gifts were my top two love languages. Maybe you want to take a few minutes today to take the quiz and find out your love languages today. Thanks so much for stopping by today to learn more about my main squeeze. Have a great weekend!
