Here are some tasks you need to consider doing at the end of this month that will help you get there.
Review Yearly Goals
Take a moment to look at your yearly goals to check your progress. What action steps do you need to take this month to make sure you reach your yearly goals? Do some of your goals need tweaking due to changes in your life? If so, now is the time to make sure your goals align with what you want to accomplish this year.
Set New Monthly Goals
Not only is the end of the month a good time to review your yearly goals, but it’s also a great time to create new ones. What are your goals for the upcoming month? Is there a project you want to get completed, or a new habit you want to develop? Write out your goals for the month and create a plan to reach them.
Review Monthly Budget
The end of the month is a great time to review your budget. Is your current budget working for you, or do you need to make some changes due to unexpected events? Did you go over-budget in some areas this month? Make changes to next month’s budget to help you get back on track to reaching your financial goals.
Review Monthly Calendar
Take a moment to look over your calendar for the next month. Is there anything special you need to prepare for? What events do you already have scheduled? Do you need to reschedule anything due to conflicts? Make sure all previously scheduled appointments are marked clearly in your planner so you don’t miss them this month!
Schedule Appointments
Speaking of appointments, are there any you need to schedule? Is your yearly physical or teeth cleaning appointment due next month? Go ahead and schedule the appointments and mark them on your calendar before the month starts. You’ll already be one step ahead!
Schedule Fun Time
Life shouldn’t be all work and no play, so take time to schedule some time for fun. What family activities do you want to plan for next month? Planning these activities in advance will make you more likely to follow through with them, so go ahead and write them on your calendar.
Don’t forget yourself, either! Pamper yourself by scheduling at least one activity that’s just for you. Whether it’s a pedicure, massage or an afternoon of reading time, you’ll be so glad you planned it. Trust me – we all need some “me” time in our lives!
Take Note of Birthdays and Special Occasions
When you glanced at your calendar, did you see any upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, etc. you need to prepare for? Make a list of cards and gifts you need to buy with the due date so you don’t drop the ball and forget them.
