With Christmas slightly over three months away perhaps you are already preparing for the busy holiday season. While some of us may have already started working on our Christmas list, there are still some of us putting it off. Why, you ask?? Because not everyone has money in their budget to cover those holiday expenses like Christmas gifts and decorations. If that sounds like you, I have good news for you today. While your bank account may look bleak at the moment, there are some easy ways you can make extra Christmas cash before Black Friday arrives. Check out these creative ways you can start adding some money to your holiday budget this year.
Sell Unwanted Items
It’s time to clean out your garage or attic and make a few bucks by selling furniture and other items you no longer need. If the weather is nice where you live you can have a garage sale. Or you can list your items on Craigslist or Ebay or use an app like Letgo and watch the money start rolling in with little effort.
Use Rewards and Rebate Apps
One of my favorite ways to earn money is by using rewards apps. You can earn extra money by getting rebates on items you already buy. You can even earn gift cards just by visiting stores. My favorite apps to use are Walmart Savings Catcher, Ibotta and Shopkick. Check out my favorite money saving apps for more information about these and others.
Cash in Gift Cards
Do you have gift cards from last Christmas or other occasions that you still haven’t put to use? You can use them to purchase gifts for others this year, or you could trade them in instead. Use a website like Gift Card Granny or Cardpool to exchange them or sell them for cash.
Amazon Trade-in
If you have books, movies, cellphone and electronics you no longer want, join the Amazon Trade-in program. You can send in items in exchange for an Amazon gift card you can use to purchase gifts. Perfect!
Consignment Stores
If your closet could use a good purging, consider taking your old clothing that is still in good shape to a consignment store. Most stores will offer cash for your items once they sell.
Bake Sale
Do you love to cook pies, cakes, brownies and homemade desserts? Take orders for the Thanksgiving holiday for the traditional favorites and you’ll soon have the extra cash you need for all those after Thanksgiving sales.
Odd Jobs
Let your family, friends and others in your neighborhood know you’re available for odd jobs. You can make some easy cash by offering services in babysitting, petsitting, tutoring, lawncare, housecleaning, you name it!
Test Websites
Did you know you could get paid just for visiting websites? That’s right! You can visit websites and offer insight on your experience for as much as $10 in Paypal cash. Check out User Testing and Userzoom to get started.
Give Lessons
What skill do you have you can share with others? Offer lessons on playing instruments like the piano or guitar, or teaching others how to sew or how to refinish furniture. Get creative!
Get Crafty
Do you like to make homemade items and get your craft on? Maybe it’s time to open an Etsy store or rent a booth at a local craft fair and sell your handmade crafty items for cash.
Fivver
Have you heard of Fivver? It’s a website where you can buy and sell for just $5. If you like to write you can offer articles for $5 each. If you’re good with images and graphics you can offer logos, printables and such for $5 each and watch the money add up with each purchase.
Sell Gold
If you have any jewelry that isn’t sentimental that is broken or you no longer want, it’s easy to turn it into cash by taking it to a jewelry store or pawn shop.
Online Surveys
Online surveys are an easy way to make money if you have the time to complete them. All you do is answer questions and you’ll get money in return. Pretty easy, huh? Some companies you can start with are Pinecone Research and Paid Surveys at Home.
I hope you’ll find this post helpful and use these ways to earn extra Christmas cash so that you can have a holiday free of financial stress. Tell me, what are some ways you’ve made extra Christmas cash in the past?
